CoolSelection™ is a plugin for Adobe® Illustrator®.
CoolSelection adds new and advanced selection tools to the Illustrator.

Use the Selection Brush Selection Brush Tool to draw a selection of any shape You want.

Objects fully inside the shape will be selected. Objects just touched by the shape will be not.

Select objects with the CoolSelection plugin for Adobe Illustrator

Choose the Selection Brush Selection Brush Tool Tool.

Draw a selection of any shape You want. Objects fully inside the selection shape will be selected. Objects just touched by the shape will be not.

Shift-click to add to selection / subtract from selection.
Press the square brackets [ ] to adjust the brush size.

Press and hold the Option (Mac) or the Alt (Windows) to color objects instead of selecting them. Current color, i.e. the color from the Fill Stroke Control will be used. Details…

Align objects with the CoolSelection plugin for Adobe Illustrator

Select the triangle and the circle.
Shift-click to add the square to the selection.

Press "1" to align the selected objects to the left side of the square. Press "2" to align to the right side, press "0" to align to the center and so on.

If You want to align objects to the artboard, just select objects with any selection tool and use the Shift + a numeric key: "Shift + 1", "Shift + 0" etc.

How to install (macOS)

If Illustrator is running, quit it. Double-click the CoolSelection2024.dmg file.
Drag CoolSelection.aip to the Plug-ins folder.

Start Illustrator. Tool icons Selection Brush Tool Selection Box Tool will appear in Your Toolbar.
If You can't see the icons, click Window / Toolbar / Advanced.

How to install (Windows)

If Illustrator is running, close it. Double-click the CoolSelection2024.zip file.
Open the Plug-ins folder (usually "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2024\Plug-ins").
Drag the CoolSelection folder from the zip file to the Plug-ins folder.

Start Illustrator. Tool icons Selection Brush Tool Selection Box Tool will appear in Your Toolbar.
If You can't see the icons, click Window / Toolbar / Advanced.
